Series: Hanazakari no Kimitachi e (aka. Hana Kimi)

Hanazakari no Kimitachi e

My Rating: 5 stars

Description-
The drama is based on the popular manga of the same name by Nakajo Hisaya, which has already been dramatized in Taiwan. Horikita plays the protagonist Ashiya Mizuki, a Japanese girl in the U.S. who one day sees the young athlete Sano Izumi (Oguri) compete in the high jump on television. She begins to idolize him, and decides to move to Japan to attend the same school as him. However, Izumi goes to an all-boys school, so Mizuki disguises herself as a boy to achieve her dream of being with her idol.

My Rating-
First off I started this show at least 5 times before I actually sat through the first episode. I have a short attention span so I would only make it a few min. into it and get bored. Once I made it past the first 10 min. I was hooked. LOVE THIS SHOW! I don't know if there is a japanese drama that has made me laugh more than this one. My favorite part about the whole show is the inner struggle that Nakatsu faces with his feelings for Mizuki, It really makes me giggle. I could have cared less about Sano and whether or not he made the High Jump, I loved watching Nakatsu, he stole the show.

You would NOT be disappointed by this show in any way. It has comedy and romance and gives you the warm fuzzies. You are left a little disappointed at the end of this series if you are a Nakatsu fan but all in all I thought the ending was a good one!! Thank You!! Like I said it is rare to feel closure at the end of some dramas. A good drama has a good ending with closure.

Video: I have yet to find a perfect music video from this show....LOL! I will post one when I find one. Until then here is a silly video I found. It shows the more goofy side of the show.

Series: Hana Yori Dango

Hana Yori Dango

Rating: 5 Stars

Description:

Makino Tsukushi is the only poor student at Eitoku Gakuen, the school of the ridiculously rich and privileged that is ruled by Flower 4 or F4, a group of four boys who come from extremely powerful families: Domyoji Tsukasa, the leader and heir of the Domyoji World Finance Group; Hanazawa Rui, the introverted son of a large company; Nishikado Sojiro, a player who is the heir of a tea ceremony school; and Mimasaka Akira, a madam killer with ties to the underground. If a student gets on the F4’s bad side, he/she gets a red notice and is bullied and driven out of school.

Makino hopes to pass her days quietly-- without drawing any attention to herself-- but one day, she stands up to Domyoji in defense of her friend. The next day, Makino gets the dreaded red notice. Even though she is harassed, Makino decides to keep going to school because she is a “tough weed”. She declares war right back on the F4. Her resolve gets the attention of her crush Hanazawa Rui and oddly enough, rouses romantic feelings in her worst enemy, Domyoji Tsukasa.

The series is based on the Japanese shoujo manga "Hana Yori Dango" (Boys Before Flowers) by Kamio Yoko.

My Review: Many can attest once you start this show it is like a car wreck you can't help but watch. It is addicting in every sense of the word, when it is over you will need therapy (Hana Kimi is a good form of therapy). I took me a little while to get over watching this show. But loved it once I was over it. LOL!

I love this show because it is just flat out cool. It is like a drug, you like it, become addicted to it and want to share it with your friends. LOL! You fall in love with the characters and get very involved in the show. I do have a complaint though. I got really tired of the drama towards the end...but that is what made it addicting. You laugh you cry, you want to throw things at the computer screen, and find yourself yelling out loud to the characters. LOL! But all in all it is one of the best drama's I have seen to date. But I am a drama-a-holic.

You have to sit through the whole first episode to start to like it then you want to see what happens next before you know it 8 hours later you are crying in front of your computer. Then comes Season 2. LOL!

Video: A few Fan videos made using scenes from the First Season. Enjoy!

Yamashita's character, Iwase Ken, is obstinate and unskilled in love, but he fell long ago for the lively and cheerful woman, Yoshida Rei, played by Nagasawa. But Rei is about to get married to another man. While Ken and other friends from high-school attend the wedding ceremony, a fairy appears and sends Ken back in time, giving him a second chance to win the girl he loves.

My Review- What can I say this show was GOOD. I have to admit I did get a little bored/frustrated in the middle but the ending was totally unexpected. I love the lesson learned and the story line of this wonderful series. I wanted to rate this show 5 stars I really did but I did get bored somewhere in the middle. I really want to give it 5 stars alone just for the perfect ending. I seldom have perfect endings in my Drama's they are always lacking, this one didn't.

Imagine the person you have been in love with your whole life is marrying another person. What you wouldn't give to go back and change the past. That is what this series is about. It is fun and interesting to watch the main character fail time and time again and the lessons he learns each time and how he grows. :) Love the ending....!!!!

Video: Spoiler alert...but such a good video it made me cry all over again.

Series: Golden Bride

Golden Bride

My Rating: 4 stars

Description:
Jin Joo is a half Korean and Vietnamese girl who marries a Korean man, Kang Jun Woo, in order to come to Korea to look for her biological father who abandoned her. The drama is not only about her searching for her dad but also about the cultural differences between her and her husband's family. There is bad blood between the two families, Kim and Kang. The rivalry is even more fueled because Jun Woo's mother used to date Young Min's father but Young Min's mother stole him away from her. Kang Sae Mi is Jun Woo's sister and Kim Young Soo is Young Min's younger brother. They want to get married but both families oppose their marriage which leads to the two young lovers running away and living together.

My two cents:

Finally after 5 months of watching this series I am DONE!!! All 64 one hour episodes. Somewhere in the middle of this show I got bored or frustrated but I am glad I stuck it out. After watching it that long you get kinda attached to the characters. I cried and cried last night about Young Soo and Sae Mi. :)All is good though. I loved how the characters progressed and how they were completely different at the end of the show. Like for instance Jin Joo, I couldn't stand her hair but as her character progressed so did her looks. I can't believe the progression of the character jin joo from beginning to end. It was just so amazing. :)

Honestly this show was like a lame soap opera. The camera angles, lighting, the zooming in on the faces and long dramatic pauses. It made me sick to think I was watching a soap opera. But all in all it had an AMAZING ending that gave me closure. For the ending alone I would have given it 5 stars. But I had to knock it down to 4 because of the soap opera lameness.

Video: Ok so the first video the music quality stinks for most of it. But It was just my favorite scenes from the last two episodes. *Sniff, Sniff*

This video is more based on the first few episodes. There aren't a lot of videos to choose from because it is such a new series but yeah. I can't stand the song, lol, they played it so much in the show after 64 episodes of the song you want to throw something at the screen but oh well!

Series: Hotaru no Hikari

Hotaru no Hikari

Rating: 4 stars

Description: Hotaru works for a famous interior design company. It's a glamorous job but Hotaru's private life is totally the opposite of glamorous. She lives alone, and when she isn't working she's mostly lazing about her rented house in training wear. She's not interested in men. In fact, she isn't interested in anything. "I'd rather lay around than fool around," is her motto.

Her landlord is a bar owner, and one day his son, who has just separated from his wife, comes to inspect the rental property, not knowing that someone is living there. He is shocked at the mess, but not as shocked as Hotaru. He turns out to be her boss, Takano. -- Japan Times Online

My Review: I loved this show and waited for it to come out every week. Shaylee was also really into this show with me, she thought it was cute. I fell in love with the characters and found it so enjoyable. I did find it a tad annoying how they dwelt so much on her bad habits being a problem. LOL! But I see their point. I loved "Manager" her boss, he was just too cute for words. I loved their relationship and how things worked out.

In looking for a video to post I was reminded how much I really enjoyed watching this show. I would watch it again because it was just that good. :) I would have given it 5 stars but I didn't because the ending left me wanting more....I needed more closure to the series than it provided. I tell ya, I am very strict on my 5 star ratings!! But I laughed, cried, and got warm fuzzies from this show it was awesome!! YAY!!

Video: This video also includes one of the theme songs from the series.

Movie: Seducing Mr. Perfect

Seducing Mr. Perfect

My Rating: 4 Stars

Description:

Min-joon (Uhm Jung-hwa) is a believer in true love and always very dedicated to her current boyfriend. However, men always break up with her - her latest boyfriend ends their relationship on her birthday. Distracted by the latest break-up, she bumps into a car and a man steps out of it - who turns out to be her new boss, Robin Heiden (Daniel Henney). Heiden has very clear ideas about a relationship and love: both are a game of power and Min-Joon seeks advice from him, as she doesn't want to get dumped again. However, when she starts to treat men like Heiden treats women, she realizes that she prefers her older behaviour, even if that means that she gets dumped again; she doesn't see love as a game of power and never will. Heiden, who has to deal with his own heartbreak, as he loved a woman so much that she had to shoot him to get the message across that she wasn't interested in him, starts to soften at Min-joon's attitude towards life. He eventually falls in love with her and both get into a real relationship and a happy ending of their own.

My Review: I really enjoyed this Movie so did Kevin, well I think so unless he was pretending to be awake. LOL! The main lead (Daniel Henney, oh yeah!) speaks in English so it makes reading sub-titles that much easier (not that I mind, I love sub-titles). I think the story line was cute and a lot of fun.

It was a good show, can't say I remember anything significant from it. Wasn't my #1 favorite but really worth the watch if you are in the mood for a cute romance. :)

Videos: Yup my favorite clips or videos from the movie... Love Daniel Henney in this one...
